First Microsoft Cloud for Healthcare Update Eyes Virtual Care


These updates come four months after Microsoft launched the healthcare cloud product to support end-to-end security, compliance, and interoperability of health data.

Virtual care has been crucial during the COVID-19 pandemic. Therefore, Microsoft will first launch its Microsoft Dynamic 365 patient access feature to streamline virtual experience for patients.

The feature will allow patients flexibility in self-scheduling appointments both virtually and in-person through their patient portal. Additionally, patients will be able to access virtual health assistance for triaging, scheduling, and receiving follow-up and wellness guidance from their care team.

During virtual clinical visits, caregivers can leverage Dynamics 365 patient insights to see a holistic, 360-degree view of their patients’ care plans on one system. They will also be able to see who is waiting for their appointment so they can have personal data already ready at their fingertips.

Additionally, Mary Washington System is deploying a solution built on Microsoft Cloud for Healthcare through its partnership with Microsoft.

The solution will connect providers with patients who have canceled or deferred elective procedures.
