Ohio once again gets high marks in magazine’s economic development rankings
Ohio got the top ranking per capita in a new annual survey released on Monday by a national corporate real-estate magazine.
Site Selection Magazine also said Ohio ranked second, behind Texas, for its number of overall economic-development projects. Ohio and Texas got the same rankings last year.
Gov. Mike DeWine trumpeted Ohio’s ranking in a Monday news release. In an interview with Site Selection Magazine, he touted his administration’s jobs-training program and the “innovation districts” planned for Cleveland, Columbus, and Cincinnati, as well as JobsOhio, the state’s private economic development arm.
“Ohio continues to attract new corporate facilities and businesses to invest here,” DeWine said in a statement. “In Ohio, we have a strong business community that will work alongside new companies who are looking to invest and utilize our skilled workforce.”
Ohio governors for years have touted the state’s performance in the Site Selection Magazine rankings, dating back to George Voinovich in the 1990s.
