President Joe Biden addressed a joint session of Congress. The leaders of the Senate and House – Vice President Kamala Harris and Speaker Nancy Pelosi – sat behind him. President Joe Biden stood up for transgender rights and called on the Senate to pass the Equality Act in a historic speech before a joint session of Congress.
“I also hope Congress can get to my desk the Equality Act to protect the rights of LGBTQ Americans,” Biden told Congress while discussing major initiatives that are being held up in the Senate.
